I happened to be patrolling the start-up blogs as I often do to stay abreast of what’s happening in the entrepreneurial world when I came upon an interesting post from Guy Kawasaki. He writes the blog “How to Change the World” and a few days ago he served up the post “The Power of Red”.
Now red has been my favorite color since I was very young. It was almost dethroned by black during my teenage “Goth” phase but red fought a valiant battle and reigned supreme. Both my IPod and mobile phone are red. My computer was almost red, too, but then I got a great deal from the school computer store so I had to let the red one go.
Okay, so I know you are not here to read about my favorite colors and IPods and mobile phones and this post is really leading somewhere. It’s leading to branding and choosing the colors that best represent what your business is all about. I am by no means an expert on this but I’ll lead you to places where you can gather such information.
I went to Color Affects (not physically, just their website), a company in the UK that specializes in combining “scientific principles with artistic vision to bring the most effective use of color to any application – based not only on the cosmetic effect of appearance, but also the profound psychological effect of color on human response and behavior.” That’s an eyeful, but what does it really all mean?
